Accommodation on the Thurs/Sun Nights

Postby larma » Sat Jun 26, 2010 10:16 pm

Where are people stopping on the Thursday and Sunday nights?

There is a few I know of stopping at the Travellodge, and some at the Premier Inn nearby too..

There is a Premier Inn Near the DL for the Sunday night - Rooms are £29, so not too bad.

Make sure you book a couple of weeks in advance, the £29 rooms disappear the week before - they go up to £49 or even £60...

Rhea - Yes, I know where you are staying, cos I booked it :P

Ive already booked them both, had to pay full whack at the Whitstable one, but managed to get the Birmingham on for £29, so its not too bad me thinks.

For those planning on travelling back to London after the event I have space on the minibus, but please let me know if you need this so I can make sure we have enough seats for everyone. The plan is for anyone travelling back they do not need a place in Birmingham for the Sunday night as I'll be driving back after the DL section finishes.

I've booked in for the Premier Inn Herne Bay as the Whitstable one appears to be fully booked. Its £68 a night, but the Premier Inn rooms have a king sized bed and sofa bed, so you can fit 3 in the room no problem. I think some of them even have a pull out bed under the main bed, but its probably only suitable for a kid.

Jabber/RedNecTec don't worry about the Thursday night, I've assumed you're sharing with me....

We're in the Premier Inn Herne Bay, with Erina and Chris, Tech and Emma are in the Canterbury Whitstable travelodge. Not sure about everyone else.

I'm in the Oyster guest house (Canterbury Road), not far from the site. On Sunday I'm at a Travelodge in Birmingham city centre, but the nearest train station to the DL is only half a mile away so it's not bad.

your best bet would be sandwell and dudly station on the sunday into birmingham new st as langley green is on my local line and the last trains from there are usually around 6pm.

All of my team (Cerberus Blue) are in the Canterbury Whitstable Travelodge for the Thursday night and we'll be heading back to Edinburgh after the tournament finishes. Well apart from Yoda4483, but he's a law onto himself after the event :P

Yeah that's the one I'm heading for, there's trains later into the evening from there.
